In spirituality, the new moon is a good time for beginnings. It is the newest phase of the moon as the cycle begins again – a new start, if you will.
As we experience the new moon, we may subconsciously – or consciously – plant the seeds for new beginnings and (impatiently, anyone?) wait for them to bear fruit. To enhance your focus, you may want to actively participate in a ritual to enhance your focus and enhance your ability to manifest during the new moon.
Spiritual Meaning of the New Moon
In spirituality, we look for the way our energy is going and tune into ourselves to determine our direction. After we’ve experienced each phase, the new moon gives us a chance to begin again. Anything we didn’t put into action during the last moon phase, we can try again during the new moon. Cleanse and repeat with renewed energy.
This means that if you have intentions you’ve previously set, and that haven’t manifested yet, you can put them out to the universe anew during the new moon.
The new moon’s beginnings bring us a time to start fresh. It’s also a time to set new goals based on the results from the last moon phases. To adjust, check within for alignment, and refocus. This time of renewal is also an excellent time to ask the universe for guidance in your life path and direction.
What New Moon Rituals are There?
One of the best new moon rituals is to write your intentions for this moon phase. Intentions are similar to goals and prayers – they are basically what you want to manifest in your life.
A ritual often involves cleansing with a shower or bath, consciously releasing negative or stuck energy for what no longer serves you and writing your heartfelt intentions down in a beautiful journal. During the ritual, you can light a candle, light up some incense, and have soothing music playing also if you prefer.
Can You Perform a New Moon Ritual During the Day?
Yes, at the time the new moon arrives, you have 1-2 days to write inside of its energy. Those 1-2 days is the best possible time to perform your rituals to feel in to and manifest what you want. The theory is, that your best potential to manifest is when the moon is out in its fullest in your local time zone. The approach could be correct because it has a more powerful effect on your subconscious. After all, our human bodies are filled with water – and the moon moves oceans – and you can actually see the moon and its light while you are performing the ritual.
Even if the moon isn’t out yet, you can still perform your ritual during the day to manifest your desires. The moon is still out there in the universe, still working it’s magnetic and magic force, even if you cannot see it.
Do You Have to Burn New Moon Intentions?
No. Burning your intentions are not a requirement.
Just like with any goals, you may want to refer back to them during the waning moon reflection phase. You can burn them if you wish, if you think it would help your mindset in believing your intentions will come to pass more quickly. However, it isn’t necessary to burn them.
When you are writing what you want to let go of, then it can be a really good time to burn the intentions to psychologically tell your subconscious to let go of what you intend.
The new moon is an excellent time to start on your dreams again.
If you feel that you’ve not put enough energy into them, you lost your focus or – perhaps – refined your intentions in the meanwhile – the new moon is the time to move forward again.
Now think about what goals you wish to set and start manifesting them during the new moon phase.
